Introduction

Hello and welcome to the home of Yin Yoga with Hannah, now in Malta!

I am a British, Yoga Alliance Certified, Yoga instructor and have recently relocated to Malta from Prague. My classes centre on emphasising the principles of Yin Hatha Yoga. However I tailor my classes to suit daily needs, requirements and requests. Classes are taught in English, but all are welcome.

The original styles of physical (Hatha) yoga were very "yin" in nature, that is, passive, long held stretches. Over the last two hundred years the style of yoga has changed, mainly through western influence, to become very "yang" like. The focus of Hatha yoga has shifted, to lots of emphasis on energising practices and building muscular strength. This type of yoga can be very beneficial but like all things in life, in order to find health and happiness, balance is necessary.

As modern lifestyles are characteristically very yang in nature: fast-paced, driven and active, the yoga that I teach and practice centres on emphasising the "yin" qualities of peace, calm and stillness. For more information see the Yin Yoga page.
